6.17 Previews and standalone clips
6.17.1 Previews
Previews are communicated using the ClipDetail composite with the ClipType set to Preview.
Previews may be made available to consumers as defined in the ReleaseVisibility or TrackReleaseVisibility composites referenced from the relevant release or Track Release.
6.17.2 Standalone clips
Standalone clips may be made available in two ways:
If the metadata for the standalone clip is identical to the metadata for the “main” resource the clip has been taken from, it is communicated using the
ClipDetailcomposite with theClipTypeset toStandaloneClip. The record company or distributor may then communicate aDealto provide terms and conditions under which the DSP may make available the clip to consumers. ThisDealshall point to the clip’sTechnicalResourceDetailsReference.If the metadata for the clip is not identical to the metadata for the “main” resource the clip has been taken from (if, for example, the title of the clip is augmented by a subtitle marking it as a clip), the clip shall be communicated in its own
SoundRecordingorVideocomposite and referenced from aReleasecomposite of typeClipRelease. Any terms and conditions for such a Clip Release can be communicated as described in Clause 6.2.The
SoundRecordingorVideocomposite containing the clip and theSoundRecordingorVideocomposite containing the “main” recording shall be marked as being related to one another usingRelatedResourcecomposites with a type ofHasClipandIsClipFrom, respectively. This approach also necessitates giving the clip aResourceIdthat differs from theResourceIdfor the “main” recording.
